The NuMex Pumpkin Spice Chili has been bred by the New Mexico State University creating three new Jalapeño varieties: this one, the Pumpkin Spice being the mildest, with Lemon Spice and Orange Spice being the hottest. The thick-fleshed and juicy orange pods have a medium heat of about 22,000 SHU. They grow to about 6 cm long and offer a nice contrast to the dark green leaves.
The plants grow rather compact on small stems and reach a height of about 60 cm
